West African Book Publishers Limited (WABP) was incorporated as a limited liability company on August 7, 1963. Its headquarters is located at 28/32 Industrial Avenue, Ilupeju Industrial Estate, Ilupeju, Lagos, and it has branches spread across the country. The company was established to fulfil the dream of publishing books, magazines and diaries of internationally accepted standards.

We have successfully achieved that goal and continue to position ourselves as pacesetters in the publishing industry in Nigeria. WABP is a vibrant and truly indigenous Company with two divisions: (a)Educational and General Publishing (b) Corporate Diary Publishing BOOK PUBLISHING DIVISION The book division of WABP traces its beginning to 1971, when it published a series of health journals, including You and Your Baby, which were distributed free to the public as a guide to family healthcare.

Since the company started producing its own titles in 1984, we have continually produced on a massive scale books for various fields and strata. As a dynamic publishing house, WABP’s list of published works keeps increasing with more interesting titles yearly. Some of our books have received international awards:

Ifa Festival (Odun Ifa), by Dr. Abosede Emanuel, won the 2001 Noma Award for Publishing in Africa. Also in 2004, A Dictionary of Yoruba Personal Names, by Ijoye Dr. Adeboye Babalola, et al, won an Honourable Mention for the Noma Awards. Being a truly indigenous company, WABP continues to engage in the business of publishing books for all strata of the society.

We have attached our annual catalogue which shows all books published and a synopsis/extract of each book. The diary publishing division of the company produces tailor-made diaries of international standards for corporate bodies.
